This binnacle was designed to be used on a submarine bridge at the surface. It was small enough to pass down through the hatch when submerging.
Introduced by the Admiralty in 1909 this is an early all brass example. These small, perfectly formed, binnacles are known by submariners as a Faithful Freddie.
